A guide for prospective members — how to apply using a chapter join link, what happens after you apply, and what to expect in the welcome email.
A Golden Connects chapter join link is shared by the Chapter Admin or an existing chapter member. It might arrive via WhatsApp, a LinkedIn post, an email, or a business event. Each link is unique to a specific chapter.
When you open the link, you will see a public join page showing the chapter's name and location — confirming which chapter you are applying to.
The application form asks for three things:
Full Name: Your real, professional full name. This is the name that will appear on your profile and your Gives once you join.
Email Address: Use the email address you want to use for your Golden Connects account. This email must not already be registered on the platform — each email can only be associated with one account across all chapters.
Business Name: The name of your current business or employer. Be specific — chapter admins use this to assess whether you are a good fit for the chapter.
Fill in all three fields and click "Submit Application."
Once you submit your application, you will see a confirmation screen telling you that your application has been received and is under review.
No account has been created yet. Your application is now in the Chapter Admin's review queue. The admin will review your name, email, and business name and decide whether to approve or reject your application.
You do not need to do anything else at this point. Simply wait for the admin's decision, which will arrive by email.
If your application is approved, you will receive a welcome email from Golden Connects with the subject line "You've been approved — Welcome to [Chapter Name]!"
The email contains a "Set My Password & Get Started" button. Click it to be taken to the password setup page. This link is valid for 7 days — set your password as soon as possible so the link does not expire.
On the password setup page, enter a password of at least 8 characters and confirm it. Click "Save" and you will be immediately logged in to your new Golden Connects account and redirected to your dashboard.
If your application is not approved, you will receive a polite email informing you that the chapter was unable to approve your application at this time.
Rejection does not mean you can never join Golden Connects. It may mean the chapter is at capacity, the timing is not right, or there is a fit consideration the admin needed to weigh. If you believe there has been an error, reach out to the chapter admin directly.
If you open a join link but are already a member of that chapter, the page will display a message: "You are already a member of this chapter." There is no need to apply again.
If you have already applied and your application is pending, the page will display: "Your application is already under review." You will be notified by email once the admin makes a decision.
If you have an existing account in a different chapter, you cannot apply to join a second chapter — each email address supports one account on the platform.
